MyFitnessPal alternatives for PCOS: a different way to track food
Published by Pea. Our recommendations reflect the tasks Pea supports; this is not an independent ranking or a clinical comparison. How we write.
In this guide
If you are leaving MyFitnessPal because you want less attention on calorie totals, replacing it with another calorie dashboard may not solve the problem. First decide which part of food tracking you want to keep. For meal feedback alongside PCOS check-ins, Pea is our recommended iPhone alternative.
Keep the useful part. Leave the admin.
| Your reason for switching | What to try in Pea | What to check first |
|---|---|---|
| Numbers dominate every meal | Meal grades and explanations, with calories optional | A grade is still a score. Use it only if that feels helpful. |
| Food and symptoms are in separate places | Meal records and daily check-ins together | Entries provide context, not proof of a food–symptom cause. |
| Logging does not help with dinner | Recipes, meal planning and a shopping list | Check that recipes suit your preferences and allergies. |
A small switching experiment
Try an ordinary lunch. Describe it in Pea, check the recognised ingredients, then read the explanation. Later, make one check-in. Ask yourself whether this gives you something useful beyond a record of what you ate. You do not need to rebuild years of logs to answer that question.
What you would leave behind
Pea does not promise an automatic MyFitnessPal import. Keep any records you need before changing apps. MyFitnessPal already has photo-based Meal Scan, so a camera button alone is not the difference. Pea combines meal feedback with PCOS-related daily records and Pod, its AI companion.
If you want something smaller
A plain phone note works for a short food diary. A photo album can preserve meal pictures without adding nutrition calculations. Neither gives Pea’s meal explanations, connected check-ins or recipe workflow, but they help identify whether you want less tracking altogether.
Switching apps does not cancel an existing subscription. Check renewal dates and Pea’s current purchase terms separately. If food scores or logging make eating harder, step back and discuss a different approach with a qualified professional.
